Numbered pins are news stories clustered by X from posts over the last few days. Colour is the category. A hollow ring means the story names no place, so the pin sits at the company or institution HQ.
★ marks a claim that is unverified or only reported. Treat it with care.
Lines join related stories. Solid lines mean one story likely affects the other, dashed lines mean they share a company, person or event. Hover a line to see why.
Ripple effects: press "Ripples" at the top to turn the ripple view on or off, or open a story and press "Show ripple effects" to watch the chain of knock-on effects it could set off, hop by hop. Each hop is marked Sourced (a story on the map backs it up, with a link) or Inferred (our own reasoning, not yet sourced), plus a confidence level. Inferred hops are reasoning, not reporting.
Macro impact: stories that touch the economy carry a tag for the theme (oil and energy, inflation, rates, currencies, stocks, trade, growth and jobs, housing, tourism), an arrow for the direction, the region and a one-line reason. Sourced means the story text says it. Inferred means our own reasoning. Figures are shown only when they appear in story text. Turn on Macro view to dim everything else. This is news interpretation, not financial advice.
Newspaper icons show today's lead headlines from each paper's own homepage or RSS feed (text and links only). Thin grey lines join a headline to the map story it matches.
Evidence check: each story shows how many X posts sit behind it and on how many newspaper front pages it also appears. That is a count of what we found, not proof that the story is true. Only the 51 papers on the map are checked.
Heat: turn on "Heat" to shade countries by how many stories sit there. Stories placed at a company HQ, or only at a region, are not counted.
Share: use the Share button on a story or ripple chain to get a preview image and a link that previews well on X.
Knock-on: press "Knock-on" at the top for our own guesses about what could happen next, based on the stories on the map. Each guess has an area, a reason with links to map stories, a test for when it counts as true, a date to check it by and rough odds. They are theory, not fact, and they are not pins on the map.
Reporters: press "Reporters" for a list of independent journalists, fact checkers and OSINT accounts on X, with a few of their recent posts. Tick "Independent reporters" in Layers to see those posts as @ pins. Their posts are their own claims and are not verified by us.
Mallorca: press "Mallorca" for five rows on what the news means for the island today: flights and airlines, tourism and source markets (UK, Germany, Nordics, Spain), fuel prices at Mallorca pumps, the euro against the pound and the dollar, and weather warnings. Each row links its source. The Good, Bad or Watch tag is our own read, not fact. Headlines come from Diario de Mallorca, Ultima Hora and the Majorca Daily Bulletin.
Local language: tick "Local language" in Layers to see the original text next to the English for non-English front pages, reporter posts and Mallorca headlines. Untick it for English only. Posts we could not translate stay in their original language.
